Borderline Deranged (borderlinederanged.com) is a personal blog run by a private individual living in Zandvoort, the Netherlands. In this policy, “I” and “me” mean the person behind the blog. For anything privacy-related, you can reach me through the contact page.
I collect your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message, only so I can read and reply to it. Your message is sent to my inbox and also stored in the website’s database. I only keep it for as long as I need it to deal with your message. You give your consent by ticking the box on the form.
WordPress stores your name, email address, the comment itself, your IP address and your browser details, mainly to help detect spam. Your email address is never published. Published comments stay on the site unless you ask me to remove them.
The cookie banner (run by CookieYes) asks for your permission before any non-essential cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings button on the site.
If you allow it, Google Analytics collects information about how the site is used, such as which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from and what kind of device they use. I use this only to see what people read, not to identify anyone.
This site may show ads through Google AdSense. If you allow advertising cookies, Google can show ads based on your interests. If you don’t, Google shows non-personalised ads. Google’s own advertising policy explains how this works.
The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like any web server, it keeps technical logs such as IP addresses. A security plugin (Wordfence) also logs IP addresses to block attacks and spam.
I never sell your data. It is only shared with the services mentioned above that keep this site running: Hostinger, Google (Analytics and AdSense) and CookieYes. Some of these companies may process data outside the EU, for example in the United States. Where that happens, they rely on legal safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
Posts often link to other websites, such as event organisers, shops and social media. Once you click through, their privacy policies apply, not this one.

If anything changes, for example a new service being added, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
