SUMMARY:Ice Speedway World Championship Heerenveen 2027
DESCRIPTION:Now for something completely different. Ice speedway is motorbike racing on ice\, on bikes with no brakes and tyres studded with long metal spikes\, so riders lean over until their shoulders almost touch the track. It is loud\, a little mad and genuinely spectacular. \nThialf in Heerenveen hosts a World Championship ice speedway weekend in early April 2027\, long after the skaters have hung up their blades. If you like motorsport\, or just want a story to tell your mates back home\, this is one for the list. \n\nWhen: Friday 2 to Sunday 4 April 2027\nWhere: Thialf\, Pim Mulierlaan 1\, Heerenveen\nTickets: check the official Thialf site for prices and times closer to the date\nGetting there: train to Heerenveen station\, then a local bus\, taxi or a walk of roughly 2 km.\n\nGood to know: it is noisy\, so earplugs are a good idea\, especially for children. \nPlanning your year? See everything on the events calendar.

SUMMARY:Amstel Gold Race 2027
DESCRIPTION:The Amstel Gold Race is the Netherlands’ only men’s WorldTour one-day classic\, and it turns hilly South Limburg into one big roadside party. The pro men’s and women’s races start in Maastricht and twist over dozens of short\, steep climbs before finishing in Valkenburg\, and watching is free. \nFancy a go yourself? The day before the pros\, thousands of amateurs ride the Toerversie\, the sportive version\, over many of the same climbs. Book a hotel early: Limburg fills up fast on race weekend. \n\nWhen: Saturday 17 April 2027 (Toerversie for amateurs) and Sunday 18 April 2027 (pro races)\nWhere: start in Maastricht\, finish in Valkenburg\, South Limburg\nTickets: free to watch along the route; the Toerversie requires registration via the official site\nGetting there: trains run to Maastricht and Valkenburg; from Haarlem or Amsterdam allow around three hours.\n\nGood to know: the Cauberg climb in Valkenburg is the classic place to watch\, but get there early for a good spot. \nPlanning your year? See everything on the events calendar.
