Welcome to The Hague: Newcomers Evening

A free evening for newcomers in The Hague: practical tips, a pub quiz with Dutch language challenges, snacks and drinks.
Group of people standing around a bar

The Hague International Centre runs regular welcome events for new arrivals, and this edition is a pub quiz at The Fiddler, run together with At Home Abroad. It falls on Praat Nederlands Day, so expect a few Dutch language challenges mixed in with the practical information about life in the city.

It is a low pressure way to meet other people who have also just worked out what a BSN is, and to pick up tips from people who know the region. Snacks and drinks are included.

  • When: Thursday 26 November 2026, doors 17:30, programme 18:00 to 20:30
  • Where: The Fiddler, Riviervismarkt 1, Den Haag
  • Tickets: Free, but everyone (including children) must register individually via the online form
  • Getting there: About a 10 minute walk from Den Haag Centraal

Good to know: Photos and video are taken on the night, so tell the organisers in advance or at the door if you would rather not be in them.
