When the leaves turn, Dutch brewers roll out bokbier: a darker, maltier seasonal beer that tastes of caramel, bread and a hint of coffee. The PINT Bokbierfestival, now in its 44th edition, is the biggest celebration of it, with more than 40 bock beers to try in one place. If your idea of Dutch beer stops at a small glass of pils, this is the cheapest education you will get.
This year it moves to De Hallen Studio’s in Amsterdam West, a handsome old tram depot that also houses a food hall next door.
- When: Friday 2 October 2026, 17:00 to 22:00, and Saturday 3 October 2026, 13:00 to 22:00
- Where: De Hallen Studio’s, Hannie Dankbaarpassage 18, Amsterdam
- Tickets: €27.50, including four tokens, the festival booklet and glass hire
- Getting there: tram 17 from Amsterdam Centraal takes you close to De Hallen in about 15 minutes.
Good to know: bock beers are stronger than an ordinary lager, so pace yourself and eat something in the food hall.
