Not every Christmas market needs to be outside in the drizzle. For one weekend, Arnhem’s historic cellars under the old town become KerstKelders, a candlelit Christmas market in a maze of centuries-old vaults.
Expect stalls with gifts, decorations and treats, and a properly atmospheric setting that feels a world away from the shopping streets above.

- Where: Historische Kelders, Oude Oeverstraat 4, Arnhem
- Tickets: €7.50 for adults
- Getting there: Direct intercity trains from Amsterdam Centraal take just over an hour; the cellars are about a 15-minute walk from Arnhem Centraal
Good to know: The cellars get busy at weekends, so arrive early, and expect narrow passages if you have a pram.
