Once a year, Amsterdam’s museums swap hushed galleries for DJs, performances, workshops and bars, and stay open until two in the morning. Museumnacht (Museum Night) is aimed at a younger crowd and has a proper night out atmosphere, but you do not need to be 25 to enjoy it. One ticket lets you hop between more than 65 museums, from the big names to places you have walked past for years without noticing.
It sells out almost every year, so this is one to book rather than decide on the day.
- When: Saturday 7 November 2026, 19:00 to 02:00
- Where: more than 65 museums across Amsterdam, from the canal ring to Noord, West and Zuidoost
- Tickets: €25, on sale since 24 September; the wristband also gives you one free return visit to a participating museum until 31 December 2026
- Getting there: trains from Haarlem to Amsterdam Centraal run late, but check the last train home before you set off.
Good to know: the Museumkaart and I amsterdam City Card are not valid on Museum Night. Pick three or four museums close together rather than crossing the city all night.
