The TT Assen is the Dutch round of the MotoGP world championship, held at the circuit known to bikers everywhere as the Cathedral of Speed. It has hosted motorcycle racing since the 1920s, longer than almost anywhere else, and the racing on its fast, flowing layout is usually superb.
The weekend is a full-on festival in Drenthe, with campsites, music and a lively town centre in Assen on the Friday night. Practice and qualifying run on Friday and Saturday, with the main races on Sunday.
