Elfia Vorden 2027

Elfia, the Netherlands' big fantasy and cosplay festival, fills the grounds of Kasteel Vorden with elves, parades and music.

Elfia is the country’s best known fantasy and cosplay festival, and after many years at Kasteel de Haar it now lives at Kasteel Vorden in the Achterhoek. Visitors turn up as elves, orcs, steampunk inventors, Jedi and pretty much anything else, and half the fun is simply wandering around looking at the costumes.

There are opening and cosplay parades on Saturday, a final procession on Sunday, live music, storytellers, craft stalls and even historical archery lessons.

  • When: Saturday 1 May 2027, 10:00 to 22:00, and Sunday 2 May 2027, 10:00 to 19:00
  • Where: Kasteel Vorden, De Horsterkamp 8, Vorden
  • Tickets: On sale now on the official site with tiered pricing that rises as tickets sell, plus a €4.50 administration fee
  • Getting there: Train to Zutphen, then the local train to Vorden station and walk into the village

Good to know: Costume is not compulsory, but you will feel underdressed without at least a cloak. It is a long day trip from Haarlem, so consider staying the night.
