The IJ-Hallen in Amsterdam Noord bills itself as the biggest flea market in Europe, and when you walk into the old NDSM shipyard halls you will not argue. Hundreds of stalls sell everything from vintage leather jackets and mid-century lamps to old bikes, records, crockery and things you did not know you needed.
It is a brilliant day out for setting up a new Dutch home on a budget, or just for people watching.
- When: Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November 2026 (600 stalls), 09:00 to 16:30
- Where: IJ-Hallen, NDSM-werf, Amsterdam Noord
- Tickets: Entry has been around €6 for adults with reduced prices for children; buy online via the official site
- Getting there: Take the free NDSM ferry from behind Amsterdam Centraal; the halls are a short walk from the NDSM-werf stop
Good to know: Go early for the best finds, bring cash, and dress warmly: the halls are big and not exactly toasty.
