Efteling is the Netherlands’ much-loved fairytale theme park, and in winter it is arguably at its most magical. Paths glow with lights, Christmas trees appear around the park, and the Warme Winter Weide becomes a winter garden with festive entertainment and plenty of warming food and drink.
The roller coasters, including Baron 1898, keep running when the weather allows, so the thrill seekers in the family will not be bored either.

- Getting there: Buses 300, 301 and 136 run from ‘s-Hertogenbosch and Tilburg stations to the Efteling stop
Good to know: Stay until dark for the lights, and dress for a long, cold day outdoors.
