Haarlem Vinyl Festival – October 2 to 4, 2026

It is a great excuse for a weekend in Haarlem, and there are plenty of cafés around the square to recover in between crates.

Record Store Day 2026
Not a fair, but a big day on every vinyl lover’s calendar. On Record Store Day, independent record shops across the Netherlands (and the world) sell limited edition releases that are only available in physical stores on the day. The spring Record Store Day took place on Saturday, April 18, 2026. The next one is Record Store Day Black Friday on Friday, November 27, 2026. Many shops open early and the most wanted releases sell out fast, so if there is something specific on your list, get there before opening time and bring a flask of coffee.

Tips for digging at a record fair
- Go early. The serious collectors and dealers arrive at opening time, and the best records often disappear in the first hour. Some big fairs offer early access tickets.
- Go late for bargains. Near closing time, many dealers would rather sell than pack everything back into the van, so it is the best moment to haggle.
- Bring cash and a card. Many dealers now accept card, but not all of them. Some venues, like MartiniPlaza, are completely cashless.
- Check the condition. Take the record out of the sleeve and look for scratches and warps before you pay. Most dealers are happy to let you check.
- Bring a sturdy bag. Records are heavy, and a box of 20 LPs gets old fast when you are still halfway through the hall.
- Know what you are looking for. Keep a list (or your Discogs wantlist) on your phone so you can quickly compare prices.
