I’ve lived in Zandvoort since 2022, and in that time I’ve eaten my way through a couple of burgers in town. Some great, some that made me sad. Here’s my honest ranking, and I’ll keep adding to it as I try more places.
Short answer: the best burger in Zandvoort right now is at ’t Wapen van Zandvoort on Gasthuisplein.

1. ’t Wapen van Zandvoort: the winner
Currently the best burger in Zandvoort, and also the best pub in Zandvoort. The vibe is always nice and the people working there are always nice. It’s been around since 1890, sits right in the village centre and has a big terrace for sunny days.
Where: Gasthuisplein 10, Zandvoort
Verdict: Go. This is the one.
2. Mango’s Beach Bar: best burger on the beach
Mango’s also makes a great burger, and you get to eat it on the beach, which is hard to beat. Perfect after a walk along the sea or a day in the sand.
Where: Strandafgang de Favauge 15, Zandvoort (on the beach)
Verdict: Great burger with a beach view.
3. Het Plein: fallen from grace
Het Plein used to make the best burger in Zandvoort. But at some point they changed the bun and the meat, and now the patty tastes like rubber and the bun is also not great. No idea what happened there, but it’s no longer my favourite.
Where: Kerkplein 12, Zandvoort
Verdict: Not anymore. I’m hoping they bring the old recipe back.
4. FEBO: just don’t
FEBO sucks. Don’t go there. There are better options a few minutes’ walk away (see above).
Verdict: Skip it.
Other burger spots in Zandvoort (not tested yet)
I haven’t ranked these yet, so no verdict for now. They’re next on the list, and I’ll add them to the ranking once I’ve tried them.
- The Smokehouse Zandvoort, Kerkstraat 4a: a barbecue and smokehouse spot in the village centre, a few steps from the beach.
- Kayuca, Boulevard Paulus Loot 2: a beach club on the boulevard.
- Brazee, Kerkplein 7: a grill restaurant on the Kerkplein.
- Bar Bistro ’t Sand, Kerkstraat 5: a bistro in the Kerkstraat.
